I was mining @40mh/s since today with cuda miner 2x980 untill today for 10  days but it dropped to 37 mh/s.Is this because difficulty raised ?

I heard 1060 / 1070 cards were unaffected by hashrate drop.
AMD 4xx/5xx cards also suffer from this. For every DAG Epoch, be ready for hashrate drop.

yes but there is a solution to get back hashrate to normal but with a little up temp and nothing OC  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I hope someone have time to reply Smiley

What is usual consuption from wall for rx 470 sapphire nitro 4g?

I have these readings:

pow (power usage fro wall)

- 30 pow without GPU
- 42 pow with 1 GPU
- 55 pow with 2 GPU
- 159 pow with 1 GPU 100% mining ETH only
- 295 pow with 2 GPU 100% mining ETH only.

So, as i see from wall i have 117w from wall for GPU 1 and 136w for GPU2 with:

GPU1 1105core/2050mem @ 910mv - 910mv with temp of 47 celsius with 60+fan speed with 27.400MH/s.

GPU2 1090core/2040mem @ 900mv - 900mv with temp of 48 celsius with 60+fan speed with 27.700MH/s.

So 295-300w for whole system at wall with 2GPU.

All GPU does not have any error in hwinfo.

Questions:

1. why GPU show 70-75w usage, when on wall device show 117. Almost 40w diference? For GPU2 is even more, about 50w.

2. what is average power consumption for RX 470?

3. GPUs are stabile, system is stabile, is these OC settings good. How to know for sure? For eg. did i set to low volt options?

everything is normal ,

Msi AB is not really the actual consumption.

Your real consumption is on your wattmetre to the wall

Perso a rig of 7 gpu (480) in dual = 1275 a 1300 w

go to the moon !!

Did you oc the R9? 16.3 work with the rx480, they were recommended by Claymore after release 9.x But for R9 they best are 15.12.
What do you mean by "picking up the rx 480 as a general one"?
Did you DDU the drivers before installing 16.3?

Did anyone tested different drivers for R9 cards? My vanilla unmodded R9 380 mines 20.5MH/s ETH + 330MH/s SIA with latest 17.6.2, but
I'd gladly revert to 15.12 if I'll mine more
Mine does 19.5 ETHC plus 590 DCR  +20 1100 1425 OC

With 15.12 drivers?

GPU always getsinvalid shares. Anyone know why it is only GPU3? Running stock settings but a modded BIOS. HWInfo shows no memory errors.

Guys I made a calculation regarding the amd 4xx /5xx dag epoch issue , please correct me if I am wrong: Ok as I see every 4 days dag grows 1 point. We are currently at 130, to reach dag 190 we need 240 days . And then let's say amd 570 4gb card currently doing 21mh/s and will drop to 14mh/s .It will  loose %150 of its power after 8 months.By looking at today's currency the income per day will drop from 2.35$ to 1.56$.Am I right?

^ They don't sell AMD cards anymore so what's the point of arguing? I haven't seen any drop on RX cards at all BTW, get a GTX1070 or bust.

Its mostly people arguing who can't do proper math.

They complain about a 0.4% drop every 5 days while the difficulty goes up 5%. And price swings 30%

@Claymore

check this new video from BitsBeTrippin

https://youtu.be/ZzAbECBnJmY?t=4836

AMD confirm about DAG issue with Email .

@Guys if anyone can make a test using SGminer with OpenCL 2.0 on Linux it will be very helpful

Thanks

Posting the same thing I posted on the SGMiner thread

Heya - this is Carter from BBT ; so what you're telling me is I need to reach back out to Roy and Joerg and ask wtf and point him back to this thread?

Bottom line, when this issue was reported, I reached out to Roy Taylor directly and asked what (AMD) were going to do about this issue, as I can not to this day believe this is an issue with their hardware, however I can believe they may have to address in a driver/firmware. Also I wanted to make sure their leadership was acutely aware of the situation. Roy is an RVP, which normally wouldn't dick with any of this stuff, however what he would dick with is a potential huge loss if they (AMD) really did invest capital building RX470 mining cards.Ultimately it could cause them to have a metric shit ton on the shelf with this issue. That kinda talk normally gets an RVP motivated to poke the engineers, which in this case Joerg responded with what I showed in our episode.

Now I clarified in that episode BBT (us, had not independently verified the words), however, we were taking some serious stock in AMD saying there was a path. Additionally as some people questions the validitaty of our previous statement in the video we announced there was a path, some folks rightfully so questioned where the proof was. The follow up video is the email we showed from AMD. That being said, I did mention in the video for the community to fact check the statement which is sounding like you have (?). We have built an ubuntu image and are going to test the latest SG branch and try to replicate the same findings w0lf has. Additionally, I will point AMD leadership back (both threads) and ask wtf as this affects everyone if this continues to be a genuine issue.

In closing, we are trying to get an answer to this just like everyone else and the goal like some folks assuming in these threads is we are just talking shit. We are reaching out to the leadership and trying to get answers. period. We will share any information we get as we always have. Transparent and in person through a livestream if required.

Hi guys!

I have a problem and i cant seem to find any resolution to it, so you might be able to help.

I have trouble getting multiple cards running on Ubuntu 16.04 server. The cards are recognised properly, but when i start the miner, the card in the pcie x1 slot is hashing really slow, like 1/6 of the normal. I installed AMDGPU-PRO and AMD-APP-SDK. If i change cards, the one in the x16 slot is working properly, but the other one is getting slow. It feels like it doesn't get enough power, assuming from the power consumption and the fan speed. The same setup is working fine on Windows 10, so this must be a Linux/driver related problem. Anyone had a similar issue, and if yes, how did you resolve it?

Thanks!
