1121  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is money ruling the world? on: April 15, 2023, 04:04:49 PM
Money drives away every feelings that makes life better. Money is truly powerful

Well for starters, you need money in order to purchase resources in this world. In addition, money gives you the power to at least enjoy your life in a relatively easier way compared to others.

Money was created in order to have a standard means of exchange. Before fiat, barter existed and it was difficult for people to assess a specific value of an item. With money being the main medium of exchange, this standardized everything which made it the international standard of exchange globally.

With this in mind, you can purchase at least anything if you have money. Not only do you have the power to do so but you also have the privilege of experiencing things that can only be bought with money.
1122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: April 15, 2023, 02:47:00 PM
In my opinion, selling jewelry to invest in gold is a very reasonable investment.

We can say with a high degree of probability that the price of Bitcoin is now close to the local minimum (and unequivocally say that the price of Bitcoin is not at its maximum levels).

The price of gold can also rise, but gold has an industrial use, so regulators will not allow its price to rise too much (this could hurt the economy).

As for Bitcoin, its price can easily increase 10 times and reach the price of $250,000.

And its price might drop extremely too, something we don't hope to be happened but very possible for that. Some people even me believe the bitcoin price can be so high someday, but the main concern is, its price is decreasing when this couple need money urgently.

This depends completely on the purpose of the investment. The good thing about investing in BTC is that its value can be easily converted to cash by engaging in p2p exchanges and services in the event that they need the money for some urgent purpose.

Personally, I would have done the same thing if I have the luxury of having jewelries that can be disposed of for investment purposes. While precious metals are already considered as investments, I still prefer investing in cryptocurrencies due to its volatility- either investing for short/long-term depending on its price on the market.
1123  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin balik 20k$ na ulet. Bear? on: April 14, 2023, 11:57:51 PM
So ngayon ang masasabi ko at nasa bullish trend tayo, at least for this quarter lang.

Medyo nanghihinayang ako kase last few months, price ng BTC bumaba ng around ~p1.2m and stable siya at that price. Ngayon na tumaas siya to p1.6-1.7m, medyo nanghinayang ako na hindi ako nakapag invest and hindi ko na HODL mga BTCs ko earned from campaign signatures.

Do you guys think na papalo yung price ng BTC around ~p2m this year? Plano ko talaga to make my first big purchase with my BTCs kaya need ko lahat ng pwedeng information about this.
1124  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I become productive in this forum? on: April 14, 2023, 11:43:24 PM
I discovered am not growing as expect in the forum and I have realizes so many things about my posts and comments, things like; repetitions, off threads, shallow contents, inability to defend your posts or comments, refused instructions, walking out my strength and best field of knowledge of bitcoin and finally trying to beat or become others.

These statement above makes many victims of not being useful or productive in the forum. Am ready to amends my ways and I guess others too. What have you observed about my page posts and comments? And what did you suggests I best lay on? What's your advised to others? Though am not the only victim here but am only the repented soul for now, please deliver me. Thank you

To be honest, I admire you for posting on software applications and BTC technical support as that page consist of technical issues that only a few understand. The language is so different to the point that you would be able to understand such if you have the actual technology that is in dispute.

One advice that I would give you is perhaps continuing your momentum on posting on those threads. The more technical the discussion is, the more chances for your posts to be merited by other users that also understand the topic.
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: April 14, 2023, 11:30:14 PM
Match for the title of world champion - 2023. Fourth game:

Ding Liren 1:0 Ian Nepomniachtchi

An unexpected victory for Liren which equalizes the position of both players. We can say that everything was decided by Nepomniachtchi's single mistake, but that doesn't matter anymore. Nepomniachtchi is very lucky that tomorrow is a day off and there will be no game - he is famous for his emotional instability and I would not be surprised if, after one lost game, he lost the second. Now he has time to recover.

You can see that on the exchange sacrifice with the rook, you can see Ding's hand shaking when he took that knight. You can clearly see the pressure among these players since a single mistake can cost you the whole game. I was not expecting Ian to lose on the fourth game but he definitely miscalculated when he placed his knight back.

Both players have a point respectively and they will become more careful with the games from now on. At the end of the day, I am rooting for Ding to win this title!
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we don't have proper education on bitcoin. on: April 14, 2023, 11:12:58 PM
Please correct me if I am wrong
Even in today's modern world, except for a few people in Europe-America, the general public of the entire world does not have a proper understanding of Bitcoin. Sad Sad Except European-American, anyone who have a little idea about Bitcoin also have misconceptions. Due to this problem, many people are unable to invest in a great platform like Bitcoin even if they want to. This problem may not seem like a big deal to many, but think about third world countries. A sad reality is, in my country 80-90% of the population are not familiar with Bitcoin.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

Cryptocurrencies are considered as a niche topic in which not everyone knows about its existence. Though that may be the case, slowly, its reputation is gaining more traction and attention as compared a few years ago. Maybe the reason on why its popularity is increasing is due to the pandemic in which everything became online.

We cannot force anyone to know and learn about cryptocurrencies due to its technicality and complexity. Even if everyone knows about it, still, we still have to convince them about its investment opportunities and I find this more challenging than ever.
1127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much effort should one put into Bitcoin investments on: April 14, 2023, 03:26:18 PM
Bitcoin investments is a very promising investment which although seems to be of long term returns.most persons are not patient enough to wait till the value of Bitcoins rise significantly .
Soo in general how much should one invest in Bitcoin should it be "how much you can easily invest without stress " or "as much as you can invest at all cost"
Although I am aware it isn't a do or die affair

Well, an investment to begin with is something that you should devote some time to. If you want to invest on something that is "stress free" like you mentioned, then I guess it is better to allocate your resources in stocks by purchasing blue chip companies' stocks in the process.

Investing in cryptocurrencies is definitely risk in itself. With its volatility high, its price may change without any given notice. That is also the reason on why majority of the people invest in BTC either for short/long-term depending on its price on the market.

1129  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is it necessary to mix Bitcoin that you bought from an exchange? on: April 13, 2023, 11:59:07 PM
In the quest to remain anonymous and maintain privacy without a trace remain our utmost aim in the cryptocurrency industry, what do you think about coins that you bought from the exchange in this discussion our focus will be on a decentralized exchange.

Do you think it is a necessity to use a Bitcoin mixer to mix your bought Bitcoin before finally depositing them in your own wallet?

What is the risk associated with Bitcoin trading most especially when the source of the Bitcoin is unknown since you using it as an exchange?

I do not think so especially if you are not so concerned with your privacy in terms of your transactions.

Generally, people mix their BTCs when they transact huge amounts from one wallet to another to avoid getting flagged by a current exchange. Sometimes, exchanges question the amount of BTCs you receive but if you are transacting relatively small amounts, I do not think that applying for a mixer is the best course of action.

Though that may be the case, for maximum privacy, a mixer is still recommended but not always.
1130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: April 13, 2023, 11:46:34 PM
Not gonna affect people.

People still gonna gamble, especially in "Football" which generated the most revenue on gambling. As you can see, even in the World Cup on QATAR with most religions countries.

Gambling revenue comparing 2018 world cup has just increase 13% without any betting sponsor.

Though it will not have that much impact, I think it is still a fair move for the league to implement this kind of prohibition to limit gambling sponsors. Though I do agree that this kind of implementation is just a "front" in order to boost their image to the public but it will not affect anything at all.

If the league is really concerned in addressing the issues with gambling, then they must implement measures that will indeed remove any kind of gambling sponsorship on their advertisements or promotions.
1131  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: April 13, 2023, 11:31:09 PM
I’ve just registered my sim card lately since I am very hesitant to do it.

Imagine mo, sobrang pinupush itong Sim Registration to the point na you are actually punished if hindi mo ito ginawa. With this in mind, wala talaga tayong choice but to comply with this mandate or we suffer severe consequences and loss of privileges dito.

Though this may be the case, I guess this is still a good move to push towards development and security. Maaring medyo hindi maganda ang private security natin ngayon but this would compel TELCOs to increase further their system para maprotektahan din ang ating personal identities and documents.
1132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you struggle learning about bitcoin? on: April 13, 2023, 11:16:22 PM

I do not know if this topic has been shared here before but it is something that has given me serious concern. Eventhough I have been registered here a long time ago, I still find it difficult learning and understanding bitcoin technical aspect, the blockchain and development. I know this is a shame to admit but that is what am faced with. I once tried to read the white paper but could not make much meaning out of it. Is this just only me as someone who has zero knowledge of science or there are also people who are in science but still find learning bitcoin confusing and challenging? Is there a way out of this? Please am not asking for books to read. I need real life experiences of those who passed through this and overcame it.

To be honest, we are in the same position. Though I can somehow grasp the whole idea of BTC and cryptocurrencies, I still find trouble understanding one of the focal points on this topic, which is something related with hardware, etc.

If you are still struggling to understand the basics of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain, I highly recommend watching this TED TALK VIDEO as it simplified the explanation of the latter topics. When I watched this video, it somehow gave me an understanding about the potential of cryptocurrencies and its integration to the finances potentially in the future.
1133  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 13, 2023, 11:00:54 PM
What will you do if you don't know that a online casino will ask you for KYC after winning over 8,000$ on the platform? And you now manage to process with the verification and they failed to pass you? Can you consider such a casino a scam?

If this were the case, this would be considered as a prima facie evidence that the casino is trying to withhold my profit. With this, they are intentionally delaying payments and this would require further action in order to satisfy my claim, which should be reported to their customer service representative or forum representative, if the latter is available.

Quote
Also, imagine you get attracted to an online casino because of the bonuses they offer and you open an account and make your first deposit then you didn't receive the promised bonus, is this an act of scam or not?

This depends on the casino you are depositing your money with. If it is a fairly new casino that offers relatively high bonuses to attract users, that would be considered as a red flag for me. But if it is a casino that has been ongoing for several years now, I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Of course, all problems should be directed to their CS representative for them to be alerted of this issue.
1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Because of the love I have for bitcoin on: April 13, 2023, 04:14:15 PM
Op, I see the loopholes in what you did. You said in your post that you'll soon implement bitcoin as a payment option and your fellow workers were happy,  how do people celebrate what they don't know? It just does not sound realistic, no offense. ...

This is all a good undertaking, but I think the OP doesn't even know whether it is legal to accept bitcoins as payment for goods in the country in which he lives. Apparently, the knowledge of the OP is not yet enough to be able to promote bitcoin in populace.

In the Philippines, only the legally recognized legal tender is allowed for the payment of wages to their respective employees. Any kind of payment not recognized as the legal tender is void and can be legally challenged by the employees especially if this was without their respective consent.

Like what you guys mentioned, how can the employees appreciate this kind of system where they are the ones who are not knowledgeable about it on the first place? This puts too much risk on them given that the risks involve are just too great for them to accept.
1135  Other / Off-topic / Re: Prepare for the life when you get old on: April 13, 2023, 02:35:28 PM
I think here the concept is getting clearer, we have to put our money in something that makes its value increase, because if you just save your money it won't increase.
so I think investment is the right choice for our old age.
If indeed your uncle is diligent in saving and investing his money, I think now he will not be upset and have financial difficulties.

If there is something that I have discovered over the years, it is to take advantage of youth and time while you are young.

If you have any spare cash on hand, invest it on different mechanisms for you to reap in the future. For example, investing in blue chip stocks can actually be profitable in the long-run especially if you just let its value mature over time. While you still have your resources on hand, invest it on different platforms for you to enjoy in the future.

Most people invest in cryptocurrency with the aim of short/long-term investment depending on their goal. Personally, I would prefer to invest in both timeframes there are instances where investing whether in short or long-term is profitable.
1136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can keep me more active here? on: April 12, 2023, 11:56:36 PM
In my experience its not worth the effort to look for jobs in crypto space. They are too scarce, and you spend more time finding them than actually working. Better just find a good full time employment or build a freelance career. Then use your fiat earnings to buy Bitcoin - you will have way more Bitcoin this way than trying to earn it directly.

I somehow agree with your statement- the job that some have is too specific for some to even consider. Though you may post your services and create a thread for it, other than that, you should focus on other spaces as well.

As someone who currently participates in a campaign signature, it is my duty to at least engage in fruitful discussions about a certain topic. I spend around 2-5 hours daily browsing through threads and reading comments in order to keep myself engaged to the topic.

I do recommend that you aim on contributing to the forum by joining into discussions in order to increase your forum rank in this journey. If you are able to participate in campaign signatures, then that is one reason to keep you being active in discussions here in this forum.
1137  Local / Pilipinas / Re: {Babala}: Mag-ingat sa P2P trading on: April 12, 2023, 11:36:56 PM

This is very concerning given na p2p ang main channel for transactions in either binance or bybit. Nakakatawa lang kase may mga scammer talaga na willing to take advantage sa mga ganitong situation just for the sake na makakuha lang sila ng pera.

In binance, as far as I know, protected siya with the in-built system and makikita mo yung percentage of their trades being closed. Though iilang ways lang naman to guarantee, hindi pa rin talaga absolute na safe ka pa rin sa mga p2p transactions. Nakakalungkot lang na nangyayari pa rin ito despite the security measures na meron ang system nila.
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tilt in gambling on: April 12, 2023, 03:54:31 PM
Of course I'm getting tilted knowing that I waste time because I lose and also lose my money along with it. I actually practiced myself to be cool headed as I am already lost I don't want to add another problem if I can't control my anger, also if I am not really in the mood and my instinct really wanted to play but I know that I'll just lose because I won't control my emotion and probably bet all my money. I do the alternative of playing with not real money and actually it works for me as I forgot that I am not using real money whenever I am losing.

I think that the feeling of being tilted is completely normal as we humans have emotions. When we bet in gambling, we use our resources and we cannot escape the liability and feeling of losing our money. It is completely normal to feel tilted as this actually limits our gambling expenditures, though this may be considered in a case-to-case basis.

Generally, there are two (2) outcomes that may happen when a person is tilted: either he quits or he continues gambling in the process. The feeling of being tilted provides that a person may want to recover his winnings in order to quickly and immediately feel grateful; on the other hand, a person may want to quit gambling since being tilted connotes a negative type of energy as a whole.
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can owning 1 Bitcoin make you rich in 2023? on: April 12, 2023, 02:45:26 PM
This actually depends on the current status of a person.

Rich is a relative term that is completely dependent on several factors. For example, the value of 1 BTC to people who live in developed countries may be small as compared to the people who live in developing countries. As the cost of living varies per country, a person may feel rich if he owns 1 BTC if he lives in a developing country.

Personally, 1 BTC is something that can guarantee me at least a comfortable way of living. As someone who lives in a third-world country, every value counts and that also includes the price of 1 BTC.
1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in casinos on: April 11, 2023, 05:46:37 PM
Sooner or later it will eat all balance if you keep doing same martingale strategy, you have to look for better money management methods instead of keep doubling bet size on each loss bet.  Reverse martingale works better on some multipliers on limbo or dice if you play on Stake as I can see on shared picture. Check stake forum for better limbo strategies and apply your own martingale method but don't forget to make it soft,IMO.

Martingale's strategy will never work in any casino in the long term. I will share my personal experience with you. When I first came to know about this Martingale's strategy, I decided to test it out. It worked well for a few of my dice games but then i kept on doubling my money on every loss, but unfortunately, i never got to win until my whole balance at the gambling site was exhausted.

I concluded that once we keep applying Martingale's strategy, the casino will recognize the pattern and then there will be a time when we won't find a win and lose all our money.

This is why this strategy is known to work if you have good bankroll to begin with.
But if you are working on a certain amount, then, you will likely end up losing all your funds.
Besides, there's only a period that this strategy will work for you. But if you won't stop playing, then, the house will catch up as remember, there's HE.
Martingale or any other known gambling strategy, will only work for you if you know when to stop. This is why any strategy won't give you a guarantee of winnings.

I agree with your statement.

Just to share a personal experience of mine, I used to accompany my brother in f2f casinos pre-covid days. Most of the times, he brings around $200-$300 worth of cash and he uses the Martingale strategy in order to quickly recover his losses upon a losing streak. Of course, this works if you have sufficient capital in order to bet for the next round and most of the time it works.

There was a time, however, where my brother experienced losing 5 times in a row and the money that he had to bet multiplied x5. He did a hail mary bet and luckily, he won and recovered his losses from that night.
