I just try today and SM is amazing, but pwerstage on amd is poor.

My rig (5 x rx580 4gb) on Windows use 850w
Same clocks and pwerstage 0 in SM uses 915w

I read more people with more power consumption in sm than Windows.

Any fix coming soon? , If dev fix that sure I will keep on SM?

Regards

Maybe your doing something wrong, powerstage does indeed work, as 0 crashes most of my amd cards? so seems it is doing something

Yes it works because It lows watts in wall plug, but isnt enougth. My rig can run with less watts

yeah ? Also I have 7 RX580 (MSI mostly) running of an 850w PSU, per rig. so it definately does work.

I haven't seen anything regarding smos and vega.  Will smos support vega?  I've been using smos for a few months now and really like it, but I'm thinking about buying a couple vega cards at launch Monday morning.  So I was curious if smos will support the vega cards or if I should look into other operating systems.

Hi ! If anyone can answer me, maybe the developer ....
Why this operating system [Mining OS - Also known here as SMOS] has stolen the name of another ever linux based system that started to develop in 2012 ...

but that at some point it stopped ...      The site I'm talking about is this   https://www.smos-linux.org/
Initially when I saw this topic / thread on the bitcointalk, I thought that it took up the development ... but then I realized that it has nothing to do with the other system ... and then I wonder again why it was stolen the name ?

Does the OP provide support at all? If not, I'm going to pay $30 for a perpetual license for pimpOS instead of $24 each year for each rig.

Only the time that consume installing the drivers on any windows is worth that 2$/month.

Are there any planned changes coming for the power limit configuration? This might be the one reason I switch back to Windows as my rigs now each use around 200W more than windows.

RX 580 4GB is having issues. Anything under power limit/stage 4 gives terrible hashrate and some cards stop mining.

Same problem here, I have 27 RX580 NITRO+ 8G. Undervolt on Linux does not work, either on Ethos or SMOS. I also had to go back to Windows and remove one GPU from each rig to be 8 GPU each rig.  All Linux OS, "globalpowertune 4" not work with double mining (card stop) and suck to much power anyway, 5 is beyond too much power.

The whole purpose of having a Linux operating system is to recognize all the GPUs and do the undervolt, but the system can not, so the whole purpose for using Linux ends here.

I work for a company that wanted to buy 100 Ethos licenses or use SMos, was all cancelled to use Windows

I think you can try to write moded undervolted BIOS to cards for Linux ethOS or smOS.

Simplemining OS crashes with 5th card...

I'm attempting to build a rig with six (6) R9 295X2's (I know, I'm crazy, but I have free power).

Every time I add the 5th card, simplemining crashes with this error:
"/root/xminer.sh: line 49: 2668 Segmentation fault $MINER_PATH $MINER_OPTIONS
Minder ended/crashed. Restarting miner in 10 seconds"

Screen shot here:
https://us.v-cdn.net/5021640/uploads/editor/2k/3gouvf93exg5.jpg

I've run one card at a time and they all work fine. Just can't get past adding the 5th card.

I'm using an ASROCK H110 Pro MB, celeron processor, 4 Gig RAM, 16Gb USB for the OS.

Strix 1070 consume higher power, consider 120W or more and stay below 800 memory offset, vbios update may help. Keep in mimd stability is top important so don't overclock too much. 28-30 Mhz is reasonable hash rate with normal turning.

Hallo I have a few problems that still make me until now confused. I.e. when I plug all GPU (a total of 9), there are some writings such as the pictures shown and it keeps recurring. I've been doing some replacement BIOS settings but the end result still appears like that, and when I installed GPU 1 that all went smoothly. Please help.

I USE GPU Sapphire rx460 4 GB and mobo biostar tb250 btc pro (12 PCI)

New to SimpleMining.net hence first post.

This is probably really simple fix but i looked for hours and couldn't find it.

I cannot get my rig to appear on the site. I believe I have done everything I need to do online.
I have booted simplemining OS and everything works goes well email shows up and tells me to login in.

Then it continues to run and I receive:

Cannot resolve 'eu-de01minirigrentals.com'
ETH: Stratum - Cannot connect to eu-de0.minirigsrentals.com
ETH: Stratum - Failed to connect

Thanks for the help.

the cards are working stable 2 days already
memory +950
gpu 0
power limit 100w
power at the wall 535 W !! Smiley

i am just wondering why the clocks are not the same .. is it just SMOS issue ?
