Does anyone have special instructions for new style Blades setup with the backplane?  I have a backplane coming in the mail today and don't want to blow up my rig.  Smiley

i doubt u need instructions for it ...

Oh hell!  How am I supposed to connect an ATX PSU to the funky connector on the backplane?  Searching for a converter is futile.  Do I need to buy one of those inefficient, crap server PSUs?

Looks like it has those same green connectors on either side as goes on the blade... I assume one side would be Pos and the other side Neg

I just received the V2 blade today.  I plugged Ethernet and 12V power just as I did for the V1 blade but I get no LED response from Blade -- just a tiny bit of heat to indicate it could be alive.  Power reads fine at 12V with a multimeter.   I assume the Ethernet lights should be flashing when the board is powered (like the V1 board).   I get 'page cannot be displayed' if I goto 192.168.1.254:8000 with a browser.  The installed fuse still tests fine with a multimeter too. Any ideas?

NOTE:  ASICminer V2 blade instructional diagram here:
http://www.minersource.net/asicminer-blade/4579132096

Voltage measured at the (-/+) pins at 12.10 volts.  Also (-) post to R2R is 1.06 volts so the board has power (using a 12V 360W power supply -- works fine for the V1 blade).  No lights on the blade or the switch port it's connected to.  Anyone ever do a hardware reset?  I wonder how long to hold pins 1&2 together for a normal hardware reset (instant? 6 seconds?).

 Undecided

I was hoping there's a connector adapter so I could plugin an ATX PSU into the server PSU connector.

So do you suggest I take the ATX motherboard 24 power connector and hook the 2 12v wires?  But imagine that's not enough juice for 6 new-style Blades.  So I'd need to use a bunch of PCIe cables too.  This crap is giving me hemorrhoids!  Maybe I just need to order the HP DPS 800GBA or the ATSN 7001044-Y000.

And on top of this headache, I think I received a bad Blade.  Can't get it to hash after setup.  Sad

I just ordered this server power supply... HP DPS800GBA at Amazon for only $46.  If anyone else is interested there's only 2 left.

I just can't be bothered with trying to jerry-rig an ATX to the backplane.  I'm basically guaranteed to melt my blades if I try.   Embarrassed

Btw, got the bad Blade working by doing a hardware reset by shorting the two pins as shown in this illustration...

I already checked to make sure the cable was pluggin in, and the cord was securely in. However, I'm still getting the same screen. The light on the router that shows it's plugged in started flashing, does that mean it's attached?

I got that power supply a few days ago. It's a little noisy, and you need a power cord to run it. Like a 14awg cord.

Maybe its an issue with the v2 blades?

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues with the new blades?

I'm having that problem - had two running just fine, then they both stopped submit work at the normal furious rate Sad  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294645.0)

And also trying to get bfgminer going to manage them, and it's not accepting the --http-port parameter:
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\BitCoin miner\bfgminer-3.2.0-win32>bfgminer.exe --http-port 8333
[2013-09-16 22:36:30] bfgminer.exe: --http-port: unrecognized option

I am getting the same thing.  Using a D=LINK DIR-655.  I get activity lights on the port on the router, and the light on the router corresponding to the blade lights up, but nothing after that.  I am using a single blade and am using an adapted Molex splitter as described at the beggining of this topic.

I contacted the guy on ebay that I bought it from and he said to check the range from 192.168.1.200 - 220 and nothing there either.

I am connected to the router with a 50' cable and will try a different, closer cable later as well as reset my router.

Hi Friedcat,

I bought several things of asicminer to an user on ebay called ufoman2002, i think he is an excellent seller, maybe you know him.
In the things that i bought to this user, there is a Blade.
At the beginning the blade works just fine (a week ago), but now i’m getting this message:

Chip: OOOOOOOOOOOOOxOOOOOOOOOOxxxxOOOO

I was running the blade without overclocking and suddenly the hashrate become down to 9.1ghash/s and I saw the “x”s.
I did my research, i tried several things (adjusting voltage, changing clock, changing power supply, etc, etc) but I always get this five x. To compensate the losing of hashing power i overclocked the blade I’m now I’m getting 10.5 ghash/s with overclock.
Because I'm a newbie on this forum, i cannot contact direct to you, so Michael from btcguild.com it's helping me to contact you and i very grateful to him for what he is doing.
Coming back to the original topic, what do you think I should do with the blade?
Thank you and sorry for my english!! I’m from Argentina.

Gah!

Right, http-port isn't included in the Windows build.

Maybe I need to get a updated version of bfgminer on my RasPi, maybe its getwork proxy will behave?

I received my New Blade, but am not able to get it running. I had no problems setting up the older model. It's working fine without issue. However, the new blade isn't even being recognized by my router. I've tried new power cords, cat 5 cables, changed fuses, reset the blade, and even used all the cords from the working blade but still no luck. The yellow and green lights come on next to the Ethernet port, and the green light below the Ethernet port flashes at the beginning, but doesn't light up again. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

Update:

Proxy is back working seems to be a problem at the Slush end,

Just got my new blades and set them all up on there own IP by powering them on one by one.

Having problems with the back plane power supply though, I can't seem to get it to turn on.

I have a few set of Yellow and black cables wondering if I could rig that into the +12 Rails and the GND ?

Or figure out how to get this power supple to boot up.

Cheers

Needing a little help, So got the new V2 Blades 10 of them with the backplane

1 of the blades is dead for some reason so going to have to send back but is there a way to power the 9 others ones from an ATX power supply ?

How would I be able to wire them up ?

I have the backplane power supply but this seems not to be working with the boards or powering on.

Cheers

After some more testing I'm fairly certain the blade I have and possibly all v2 blades have a weak nic.

If I put it on a cat5 cable over 50feet long the blade will receive work but not send anything back, even to a proxy on the network. My conclusion is the sending signal isnt strong enough and it is degrading before it gets back to the router causing packet loss.
