So does PL work with the beta or not?!  Huh

I need to go see the kill-a-watt to see if PL=110 is set... if not, it may use all of TDP which is 150watts per card I think - someone correct me.

It does not work for me.
I put 180 watts for my 1080, but the miner shows 210 watts

If you want check the power consumption, add to the config key  '--pec'
p.s. its for zcach miner

I have used Simplemining.net before ages ago when it was pretty new. It was great that somone was trying to provide something like this for free, etc....

but seriously, if you want something for Nvidia mining that kicks butt and works really well check out nvOC.

No offense to Tytanick - I appreciate his efforts but nvOC is by far the best solution for a "burn it to a USB stick" Nvidiia mining platform I've ever seen.

I think maybe Simplemining.net is better left to AMD miners as it was originallyy intended.

Crypto currency enthusiast and miner since 2015. Mined approx 200 ETH during 2016 and 2017 and sold it at approximately $US40 each. Then I watched it reach $1000+ each. If anyone bothers to read this stuff pay attention to this: HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL

I started mining with 1 AMD 7950 and 1 R9-280X. Then I gradually built my AMD operation into 12 R9-290s. Awesome ETH hash but ridiculous power consumption and heat. Over the last year I defected to the Nvidia team. I now use GTX 1070s. They were expensive to buy (probably a bargain now) but awesome hash rate vs. power consumption. blah blah blah blah

IMHO, both devs are doing a great job for the mining community.

I am using both. My entire ETH AMD farm is using smOS and mini NVIDIA farm is on nvOC (some on test with smOS-NVIDIA Beta).

While smOS is simple and efficient for small and large AMD farms and now good progress with NVIDIA too...... fullzero's approach to nvOC has been great for me to learn Linux and its also highly customizable to meet my needs. Both devs are also open to getting more features into their product -- and that's good.

Its really the best of both worlds actually, and we are lucky to have 2 geniuses like Tytus and Fullzero providing mining tools like smOS and nvOC for us miners.

Anyways, a bit of competition from both dev is always good for advancement of both products.

Old Chinese proverb says..... "there can only be two tigers on the mountain...."  Grin

Ok, so setting my gtx 1060's to +150 core and +1000 mem pushes the cards to 22Mh/s, however, no matter what I set the power limit to I does not appear to have an effect.

tested with 7x 1080ti:

core 100
mem (blank)
power 180
temp 82

Power limit doesnt work at all. backward progress as the alpha version actually registered "150" value correctly. Here on this beta no values work--all cards run at 250w (100% TDP).

Memory left blank will register "182" on console.

Not sure why this was even released yet. Nothing works properly.

Hi,
I'm new here, first post...

First of all thanks to Tytanick for smOS and his console as well as for today's new NV beta release !

I'm testing right now 4xGTX1070 on Asus H270-Plus.
Core +160 Memory +950, >29.6MHs, power at the wall 150W/card

PL setting do not work at all, at least for me.

Furthermore, it seems that if you leave empty field (text) when overclocking then
the fields are mismatched, thats why tomfullery you see 182 on console for memory
which is actually the 82 you have set for temperature. I had the same issue. It's not
a problem if you fill all the fields.

Hope Tytanick read this and will fix PL issue soon.

Happy mining !

Is it sure that by reducing DPM Levels Vcore is decreased for all GPU brands?

Is there a way to check reported voltage with software?

DPM does nothing to vcore, doesn't matter the brand.

It is supposed that lower vcore equals lower vcore levels, right?

Is anyone using ewbf on SlushPool? I'm trying to configure the miner and keep getting a 'no server found' error. I've used the following with no luck...

Code:
--server zec.slushpool.com --user <myUserName>.$rigName --pass x --port 4444
--server zec.slushpool.com:4444 --user <myUserName>.$rigName --pass x
--server zec.slushpool.com --user <myUserName>.$rigName --port 4444
--server zec.slushpool.com:4444 --user <myUserName>.$rigName

--server us.zec.slushpool.com --user <myUserName>.$rigName --pass x --port 4444
--server us.zec.slushpool.com:4444 --user <myUserName>.$rigName --pass x
--server us.zec.slushpool.com --user <myUserName>.$rigName --port 4444
--server us.zec.slushpool.com:4444 --user <myUserName>.$rigName

And all of the above with
Code:
stratum+tcp://
based on the help page at https://slushpool.com/help/get-started/getting_started_zcash

Any help would be appreciated. Smiley

I have many issues with the new NV version:
First the PowerLimit settings affects the Core Clock!
I set PL to 81 and I see in the console CoreClock offset 81
On new rigs, (got 12 ATM, installing 6 new with 8 GPU on each) I can't manage to mine with more than 4 GPU.
Of course 4G is enable etc... I use the same settings on all MB...
Here is the reading (display is plugged on MB) https://imgur.com/a/2fceS

You guys are lucky... i have multiple rigs down because i flashed new image on the USB drives and didnt work, OS gets stuck at launch... So i reflashed all pen drives and still same error... Multiple hours down now so i will revert to NV beta version with no overclock... I hope next time we get an email to update our OS at least is to a stable version to ensure nobody looses time or money unnecessary

IS that 1400 a ram overclock of +1400??? If so, that ram can really oc high, how did you get it that high?

You guys are lucky... i have multiple rigs down because i flashed new image on the USB drives and didnt work, OS gets stuck at launch... So i reflashed all pen drives and still same error... Multiple hours down now so i will revert to NV beta version with no overclock... I hope next time we get an email to update our OS at least is to a stable version to ensure nobody looses time or money unnecessary
Same issue!
I have 6 rigs down because of this update :/
