Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux)

I found a way to lower memory clocks with MSI Afterburner, even when this feature is disabled in AMD driver, so, we need:

1. Run MSI Afterburner and check that "Unofficial Overclocking Mode" is currently DISABLED

2. Set desired memory clock setting (for each card if they're different in your rig) and hit apply, save these settings at the first profile and check "apply overclocking at system startup" box. Now, if you run GPU-Z, you'll see lowered clocks at the "Graphics Card" tab, but if you check "Sensors" tab, you'll see that memory clocks remain the same, nothing has been lowered actually.

3. OK, go back to MSI Afterburner, go to Settings and ENABLE "Unofficial Overclocking Mode" without PowerPlay feature and hit OK. Now your system should restart automatically.

4. When everything booted up, you should accept terms and agreement in the popup window, and then you can check with GPU-Z, your memory clocks are really lowered now to the numbers you've entered with Afterburner earlier and will not raise to factory settings until you want it.

5. ATTENTION! After these manipulations you won't be able to do any over/downclocking with MSI Afterburner actually, if you want so, you'll need to disable Unofficial Overclocking Mode and restart your system, but in this case memory downclocking will be lost.

Worked on each of my rigs (have 12 of them), each of them have the same card models onboard (but different manufacturers), especially tried on 290x and 390x.

wow nice info, did you gain lowered temps and power usage by doing this ? what  mem clocks do you have now for your 290x and 390x cards ? and what is the new hash rate

Currently I'm running at 800 Mhz memory for 290x rigs and 650 Mhz for 390x rigs, I've chosen these settings based on memory controller load (lower the clocks - higher the load), temps lowered a bit (1-3 degrees Celsium for each card), haven't check the power usage yet, but hashraste increased up to +1,5 MH from each card, I think worth it.

The problem is - if I stop the miner card clocks are stuck at those set in Afterburner (eg cards not downclocking to 2d clocks)

And if somethinmg goes wrong with saved settings - PC hangs.... one must go to safe mode and disable Afterburner

If you check unofficial oc and disable ulps and without powerplay you can still oc or dc.. I gave this info over at ethereum forum with pictures..

However you cannot lower memory voltage, which will still be at stock.

It will consume less though and you will be able to hit better timings.

After you done these steps, hit apply with a new clock your screen will go black for a sec and you'll know it works :-)

So yes this is the best way to downclock.

You can aswell add flags to the afterburner shortcut.

F.e. /w24 .. Etc..

This will as well give you more options to go even deeper..

Anyhow. Best results are obtained with a hardmod :-)
Trust me i've spent countless hours trying to find my optimal settings :-)

True.. Theres a folder (profiles) in afterburner setup dir.. Delete that and you're set :-)

Didn't work for me, so I wrote what helped in my case.

Notes:
1. no improvements on DCR rejects, from 8-9% to 7-8% -- could be a pool issue...
2. stock clock, no OC - delivers nearly 30mhs per card for ETH
3. GPU temps, low 70s from mid-70s

how does downclocking the memory actually help? and, to me, this value seems insane!  are you sure you meant 150 Mhz ?

Using 15.7.1 and Trixx? Are You sure it's underclocked? Checked in Trixx card info or GPU-Z?

I'm absolutely certain, Trixx seems to be the only utility which allows you to do so without any hassle anyway.  A wide variety of algorithms benefit from setting the memory to 150 Mhz [600 Mhz effective] such as Quark & Qubit which rely on latency rather than throughput.  This  sets your memory bus to a strap with tighter timings which will ultimately lower power consumption and heat and also allows for more overclocking headroom.  To prove my point, I managed to yield 23 MH/s for Quark, a similar figure for Qubit and 37 MH/s Ethereum & 620 MH/s for Decred in dual mining mode on a 390x without rejected shares.

Has anyone tried Stilit's bios or any other modded bios for that matter on Ethereum?

@Claymore, because of the new check of invalid shares which checks before submition, is there any way to check how many invalids i have? Isnt it better to be send to pool to check are they valid or not and not loosing computing power locally...

Seriously why so complicated, its simple... Install drivers that allow underclock (13.x) then put open cl dll's from the 15.12 drivers in the folder with the miner, the miner will use the 15.12 dll files for opencl and any over/underclocking will be controlled by the installed drivers. No restarting changing settings or generally screwing around, simple and clean.

Try to go lower than -75mV on the core clock with Trixx..

It works with every driver.

What you're telling here is even more complicated.
Copying dll's from another driver etc..

Just install any driver, check unofficial oc, disable ulps, without powerplay and you'll be able to do whatever you want.

Follow the instructions on the OP:
"-epsw    Password for Ethereum pool, use "x" as password."

Checking share locally takes 25-50mcs only.
Pool can reject shares for several reasons, so checking share locally to detect tha GPU works incorrectly is a good idea. You can find "overclock" word in log file to find warning, perhaps I will also add a special text in miner stats about it.

No ideas about crashes, for Fury there are not any improvements, though on my Nano I don't see any slowdown, same speed exactly.

Sorry, I have no idea why you see it. I think it must be something related to some software on your system. You can try it on clean Windows to check if it is true.

Why should it be a software issue when everything till 1.2 ran fine? Must be a change that came into your miner between 1.2 and 2.0
