Dok... JCE and Teamredminer are really upping their game with Heavy and CNv8.
Vega 56 1750h/s on heavy
Vega 64 2200h/s  on CNv8

Are you planning any performance increases with SRB soon?

Hmm, come on mk111, you expect to Doktor do miracle (once again), and expect it today?

Think what U can do to improve miner, lets start with reading Doktor post on this same page:

are you going to reduce power  usee like team red miner did, it uses 10 to 15 percent power same hash
too unstable for me tho compared to srb

Well that miner gave me homework to do, so i am working on something since then. It will definitely increase the hashrate, but don't know about the power consumption.
we will see.

Looks like i finally found the 'secret' of hash increase on heavy algos , it can be applied to v8 also.
Just wondering how the hell i did not think of this earlier, it was so obvious lol

if everything goes well i hope i can push the new version in max a week.
Don't know about the speed compared to other miners, we will see. But probably won't reach the JCE advertised 1750hs, but my preliminary tests on Vega56 show an increase of ~ 6-7%

...
At any rate, my 4 cards are consistently doing 460, 420, 420, 460 and using an estimated 54W each (based on Kill-A-Watt monitor, minus the amount used by the system when not mining) and 1200 Core / 1900 Mem and -20% on the power limit, so you are totally kicking my ass in power consumption vs. hashrate. Clearly I have some more tweaking to do but right now I am just happy I got it working stably on v8.

Were you disabling P0-P6 in ODT? You should. Just click each one to grey it out.
Also ODT version 0.2.6 is very buggy for me, it has a problem setting core properly so i downgraded to 0.2.5 which works perfectly.
What I do is enable "extend official overclock limits" in Afterburner, then from there I only use ODT 0.2.5, you have to do that or you get mem clock setting error in ODT.

I also have ODT 0.2.5 installed (not currently using it, however), but I only had P0 and P1 greyed out in my custom CN profile. I'm feeling more adventurous now that things have been running well for a day, but before I start giving myself a migraine I want to clarify a few things you've done:

  • Run 18.6.1 for less power consumption or 18.5.1 for higher hashrate (marginal differences both).
  • Use MSI AB to "extend official overclock limits." Q: are you using MSI AB or ODT to control the fans? I greatly prefer using AB to set a custom fan curve.
  • Bump up PL in AB to +5%
  • Use ODT 0.2.5 to set highest P state for core/mem clock/voltage, trying 1180MHz/895mV for core and 2000-2100MHz for mem. Q: What about memory voltage?
  • Set intensity manually in SRB try 23 to 24 initially. Q: What about worksize? SRB is setting it to 32 automatically (also, double threads true and K auto set to 1).

And that should bring my power consumption down to around 40W per card with a slight boost to hashrate, correct?
I just install 18.5.1 instead of 18.6.1 got an increase of about 1 H/s with same settings on my 7970 with srb 1.6.8, unfortunately I have nothing to measure power consumption.

Hi Doctor83,
- do you plan Linux version (.deb) - or even better package for integration with HiveOS ?
(https://forum.hiveos.farm/t/custom-miner-integration/4521)

- If yes, when we can expect it ?

- ... or can I (or someone from community) help you ?

thanks...

I just wanted to report that I've solved my problem with one of my Vegas being quite spastic, like less than half hashrate of its sibling. My Windows key was deactivated for a while now, and I finally contacted the supports and they helped me reactivating my Windows copy. I got an update, and after restarting both cards are running at the same speed:

https://i.imgur.com/Sxk4zwu.png

Edit: Um, it seems I started celebrating too early. My 4th miner report shows it dropped to around 1100h/s again...
you need to cool those vegas, set the fan to 3000rpm.
That is why the hashrate drops, hbm gets too hot

Both are pretty much the same temps wise, maybe the upper one has a degree more.. Much better now since I switched to the Threadripper platform and there's more space between them, on the mainstream Ryzen mobo they were too close.

Use Soft Power Play Tables to get Memory to 1100 Mhz if possible and also voltages a little down, you should get ~1900 H/s out of one Vega and temp around 50 degrees Celsius (depends of the Vega model). Keep in mind the HBM is ~10 degrees hotter than what you see on the screen.
Hey, I just wanted to report that it seems I've fixed my issue. My X399 Taichi originally came with the 2.00 BIOS version, I just updated to the 2.30 Bridge BIOS and both cards are now working fully. Imagine that… Hopefully this will stop thread_stuck_in_device_driver and video_memory_management_internal BSODs, but eh.

@doktor83

In my opinion, your script can easily surpass 1750 H/s. My rig is the example here, I'm using stock bios (this card is not reference card so I can't flash it to 64) on Gigabyte Vega 56 OC and I can achieve close to 1870 H/s easily:

My config files as the followings:

Code:
{
"cryptonight_type" : "normalv8",
"intensity" : 0,
"double_threads" : true,
"target_temperature" : 50,
"persistent_memory" : false,
"gpu_conf" :
[
{ "id" : 0, "intensity" : 112, "worksize" : 16, "threads" : 2},
{ "id" : 1, "intensity" : 112, "worksize" : 16, "threads" : 2},
{ "id" : 2, "intensity" : 112, "worksize" : 16, "threads" : 2},
{ "id" : 3, "intensity" : 112, "worksize" : 16, "threads" : 2},
{ "id" : 4, "intensity" : 112, "worksize" : 16, "threads" : 2},
{ "id" : 5, "intensity" : 112, "worksize" : 16, "threads" : 2},
]
}

In OverdriveNTool, I set my GPU clock to 1474MHz and Memory clock to 960MHz

I'm currently using SRBMiner V1.6.8 and Adrenalin V18.6.1

Since you already found the 'secret', perhaps the next version might be able to reach 1900 H/s  Grin Grin Grin

1750 is for the heavy algos, not v8  Grin

Last night noticed on the pool side gap in hash for period for more than 1 hour, then in the log file found gap that correspond to that drop in hashrate on the pool.
Why this gap of more than 70 minutes?
Can I setup that miner closes when gpu chrash is detected so my own script can take care of it?

Hi guys,

i have also 580RX 8Giga RedDevil,

with 1.6.7 i get like 1000hs....now with the 1.6.9 "only" 900-920hs (Hynix!)

I have 7 cards and all cards have the same hash.

1200 Core /2240 Mem....i try with lot of different settings, but the issues comes only with the new version, because with the "old" ones i get with that settings 1khs (little more)

Any ideas please?

Algo : heavy with Intensity 0 and 58 --> with 58 i get the 1khs

Thx

Hello doctor83 ", we need your help for our new project.
We have implemented a new ALGO: CN Heavy Fast
in our new coin We just wanted to use it as friendly software.

How can we adapt SRBMINER to the new Algo?

Maybe you have the opportunity to take a look.

Our project is here: https://github.com/BitStream-Project/BitStream
Our pool is here: http://207.180.227.127/#

Yours sincerely

Win Defender and Firewall is turned off. CNv8 algo, 18.5.1 driver. This is the case with SRB and TMR Miner on Nanopool, MiningPoolHub, SupportXMR and Cryptoknight also.

Could you help to solve this problem?

Both SRBMiner 1.6.8 and 1.6.9 are always stop mining because of devfee connection. I'm mining XMR on nanopool.Problem started few days ago and I didn't change anything or any settings. But my miners are stop after 4-10 hours after start mining. I check the log and the reason is can't connect to srbminer servers because of devfee. I'm not using any firewall /antivirus or i didn't change any settings in windows. Please help me...

If it started a few days ago, and you did not have this problem before, it really looks to me that something did change there on your computer/rig.
I checked the srbminer.com was not down for a looooooong time, so that wasn't the issue.
Anyways, i will loosen on this check a little bit in the next version.
