Oops, can`t compile latest git on windoze https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/commit/d5981f83804492a70a4aa309f8f83a200f88f478

ps. why "issues" are disabled on git?
Should be fixed now.

Why issues disabled? Because people used to use it for support for their mining issues rather than meaningful code issues.

I want to run cgminer for my ati 5850 and ati drivers 12.8 (i didnt installed any sdk), i try with this bat:

When I installed Catalyst 12.1 for use with my 5000 series cards I had to do a custom install and deselect SDK 2.6 and then manually install SDK 2.5.  So if you didn't deselect the OpenCL SDK then the version that came with catalyst got installed and the post 2.6 versions are terrible for 5000 series GPU.

The README needs updated on the display:

Quote
The cgminer status line shows:
 ST: 1  SS: 0  NB: 1  LW: 8  GF: 1  RF: 1  WU:4.4/m

Since there is a DW now as well, which isn't listed. It's for Discarded Work per the pool info screen. What does that actually mean though? I have 3 rejected shares, 11 stale submissions discarded due to new blocks, and 5049 discarded work due to new block. But I don't know what discard work actually is. Shares not submitted similar to stales? Or something else?

With 4716 share submissions (3 rejected) at difficulty 2 (so 9426 accepted / 6 rejected at difficulty 1) is 5049 discarded work due to new blocks high? It seems like a big number. Smiley

Thanks.

No you've got it backwards. The DW field is now GONE because it's meaningless so you are running an older version.

I have been noticing my cgminer 2.11.4 has been alternating the order of the cards between my 7850 and my 7970. Refer to my per device logs below. At first I thought it was saying my 7850 was cranking at the 7970 rate, but later I realized that it was just swapping the order of report. Anyone else seeing this? Thoughts on what options I have? I have read the README over and over, and tweaked a number of settings and remapped the GPUs since they were originally flipped. Am running W8Pro, AMD APP SDK v2.7. I've also been seeing cases of driver crash and recovering (mostly as I get aggressive with OC (<7850,7970> --gpu-engine 800-1100,900-1110 --gpu-memclock 1240,1430). My 7850 is on the cooler side of the case and it likes 340-350 MH/s, but my 7970 seems to be wimpy. I am a newb so please forgive any ignorance on my part!

Just a quick question for a minor still annoying issue  Tongue

every time i run cgminer a file named
poclbm130302GeForce GT 330Mv1w256l4.bin
appears in my desktop.

Is there a configuration to stop this from happening or to move it to another folder?

Thank you.

It will appear wherever you run cgminer from so don't run it from your desktop folder.

You could always maximise a window so you can't see your desktop. I don't even know what's on mine...

Hi guys,

bit of a noob here, just started mining and enjoying it. I recently setup my first 3 rigs with no problem

rig 1 - 4 x 7970
rig 2 - 4 x 6XXX
rig 3 - 2 x 7970

I thought I would try out some 7950 and got 2 with the plans of putting them into rig 3. However I was first testing them by themselves to measure the 2 x 7970 performance vs 2 x 7950.

However one of my 7950's is constantly getting the error AMD driver has stopped responding and has recovered. After that the card goes SICK and gets no mhash, while the other keeps on going.

Here is what I've tried:

- swapped the 2 x 7950 with the 2 x 7970 mobos/OS - the SICK follows the card to a new MOBO / PSU / OS. The 7970's work on either mobo.
- tried the 7950's by themselves - 1 mines fine by itself, the other gets SICK by itself and stops mining. Have also seen the GPU stats change to DEAD. After reboot it will mine again for 10 mins before again changing to SICK.
- Installed 13.3 beta drivers
- installed latest SDK 2.8 I think

In short, no, I'm not one of the first it seems.
But probably not long after based on this...:

Yes, Conman and Kano should be getting their units next week as well as Bitminter, among a number of others.

Hey tiktoc,

Nope it runs dual 5870Ms stock speeds the cards should be getting 150mhash each and OCed 185ish mhash.

bump for help.... when i specify to use one card of the other, it seems only the left card gets used as the right side dosnt even get warm.. not sure if its a cgminer glitch, driver issue or hardware problem :-/ still trying to work it out.

Driver baby.

If it was a driver issue would both video cards show using the -n switch?
