Don't forget I put the binaries here also:

https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries

As mentioned before to get the binary:
Select the version folder (3.1.0)
Click on the binary
Then right click/save as the link "View Raw"

just downloaded...

kaspersky is saying "Malware" "UDS: DangerousObject.Multi.Generic" in cgminer.exe and has deleted it?Huh

From the FAQ in the top post

Q: Is this a virus?
A: Cgminer is being packaged with other trojan scripts and some antivirus
software is falsely accusing cgminer.exe as being the actual virus, rather
than whatever it is being packaged with. If you installed cgminer yourself,
then you do not have a virus on your computer. Complain to your antivirus
software company. They seem to be flagging even source code now from cgminer
as viruses, even though text source files can't do anything by themself.
Though I will add just in case some don't realise Smiley
I am the secondary developer of cgminer - so yeah I'm not some random guy posting binaries.

But it is also worth noting that you shouldn't download binaries from anyone else unless we say so.

Of course ckolivas' web site is indeed the first and only place you should look to download from, except when there are problems getting them.
In that case, the github cgminer-binaries is a 2nd choice to look for them.

Anyone else posting binaries is definitely not worth the risk downloading unless we've mentioned it in here.
Since indeed cgminer is dealing with making money, there are the obvious risks to consider getting binaries from anyone else.

That download link is now listed as a backup on the opening post so that people can be aware it's "official".

Yeah, I figured that no one really works on NVIDIA because it's not worth it. I don't really know of any CUDA based miners on Linux that aren't like 2 years old, lol. I still would've liked to use this under Linux... guess I'll just have to chalk it up to NIVIDA still hating on the Linux crowd; as Linus put it, FUCK YOU, NVIDIA! Though, if you would be willing to work on adding some CUDA support, I could throw a few "satoshi" your way ;P
Oddly, I see it the other way around: Linus hating on nVidia coz they wont do exactly what he wants.
nVidia supplies VERY good linux drivers for everyone to use.
Why must nVidia supply drivers, the way Linus says they should? Especially when they already do supply them ...
Yes nouveau sux ...

Hey Kano and crew!  Sorry I haven't been around (I think my bouncer is even offline because I didn't update my credit card information with Amazon).  Medical shenanigans were quickly followed by backlash of IRL issues (basically if I want to keep my current job I need to do 7 weeks of work in the next 6 days Shocked).  Yeah Linus is very openly opinionated, to a fault one might say.  I was at a convention during the early days of git and he kept saying (it was on the poorly created slides too) that "If you don't agree with me that's fine, but I will call you ugly and stupid" and was slightly surprised when he used the same phrases at one of Google's developers invitationals (I'm sure it's on YouTube somewhere).  Yes I avoided CVS like the plague and SVN was only a minor improvement (well not to him), but initial git release was crap!

Also for reference everyone, it took a 100 (or was it 1,000?) BTC bounty for scrypt to be implemented into cgminer (of course Bitcoins weren't worth nearly as much back then as they are now), cgminer CUDA-edition would likely require the equivalent of a small island nation bought outright from the UK.  However if anyone gives a fickle (sure it's a word, why not) about Litecoin, first RC of my unnamed program will hit before the month is out (I honestly haven't tried Cudaminer and last used Reaper, which gave me ~60kh/sec on my stock 660 Ti and in local tests I'm getting almost 4x the performance out of the same card using the same drivers).  Con is a much smarter man than I, so if he couldn't get CUDA and Bitcoin mining to play nice, I am not going to muck around with it (we've talked about why Litecoin hashing is so much more attractive to the CUDA platform too).

Also Kano, nice job getting around github's removal of an official download section and even though I don't time have to set it up tonight, I will download the latest cgminer (I think my mac mini is still crawling away with 2.11.3) as I'm expecting a parcel from BFL next week and it does seem like Con's site is down/undergoing maintenance at the moment.  Greets to ozcoin crew and everyone on freenode and other places I've been absent from.  As soon as I re-secure my job, I will be sure to spend even more time slacking off at work!

I just moved my 7970 from a Linux machine to a windows machine and it went from 760 khash/s to 580 khash/s with the same settings. I did change the cgminer version from 2.11.3 to 3.1.0 and the AMD drivers from 13.3 beta to 13.4, but people seem to be getting good hashrates with both of those, so I don't think they're the problem. The only other thing I've noticed is different is that the last two characters of the .bin file changed from l8 on Linux to l4 on windows, otherwise they're the same. What do those characters signify? Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks.

Scroll the F up and you'll see the there has been a discussion of alternative download URLs in the past 24 hours (or read the F-ing OP which also specifies the backup download location).  Not to mention that ckolivas explained that he is in fact getting a better hosting plan just 4 posts ago.

The compiled opencl binary file name for scrypt is defined as:
name + kernelname + g + lg + lookup_gap + tc + thread_concurrency + w + work_size + l + sizeof(long) + .bin

l4 indicates 32-bit (4 byte) longs whereas l8 indicates 64-bit (8 byte) longs. This is unlikely to be related to your speed discrepancy.

Well I tried to search for this but came up empty. Currently solo farming for feathercoin when I see this:
Code:
Rejected 000001f9 Diff 8.49M/5432796 BLOCK! GPU 1 pool 0
What does this mean? I solved for higher than the current diff. Did some one else beat me to the punch?

Thanks

CK,
does it mean i have to limit the submitting value? If so, what value it should be and how to limit it?
thank you

It's just reporting information. It's as if you went up to the counter to pay $88,800 for a new toy that costs $31,621,939 and the clerk said "NO!"

Hello all,

Is it possible on cgminer to run different parameters on different GPUs ?  Huh
For example I need to set different intensity on my 2 cards to prevent hardware error :

cgminer.exe -d 0 -I 13 -d 1 -I 20

Set on device 0 intensity 13 and on device 1 intensity 20, but it does not work, it sets intensity 20 to all GPU.

So what I currently do is running 2 instances of cgminer with a disabled GPU on each one and different parameters. But it's pretty bad because it can lead to strange behaviour : for example, each instance want to modify fan speed of ALL gpu, even if GPU is "disabled" in current one...

Thank you. Smiley
